It is finally starting to feel like fall -- the weather is colder and it's getting darker earlier. This is a great time to start making soups for dinner. When my kids were young, we would have a main dish soup with cornbread for dinner. Kids can help prep for the soup and the cornbread. Some of our favorite soups were chili, chicken vegetable with rice, and potato broccoli cheese soup. What are some of your favorites?
This is also a great time to start making persimmon or pumpkin muffins. I make mine gluten-free. I love this season to spend more time in the kitchen with my kids. My "kids" are young adults (28 yrs old and 30 yrs old) and do not live in the Santa Barbara area so we don't get to share cooking as often as I would like. I'm proud to say they are both amazing creative healthy cooks!
